Inked was born from a simple question: why is it so hard to find out what's actually inside tattoo ink?
Millions of people get tattooed every year — yet almost nobody knows what pigments, solvents, and preservatives end up permanently in their skin. Ingredient labels are cryptic. Regulations vary wildly between countries. And genuinely dangerous inks are still sold openly online.
The European Union took the first serious step with REACH regulations, banning thousands of hazardous substances in tattoo inks. But that information stayed buried in regulatory documents that no regular person would ever read.
Inked changes that. We translate complex chemical regulations into a simple safety score — so anyone, anywhere, can check their ink in seconds before it goes under their skin.
We're a small independent studio that believes safety information should be free, accessible, and impossible to ignore.
